Just to give a quick update on my situation: I am not dead. I just happen to have very little time for this homepage as you might have guessed.

But I did finish my diploma this year (just before our boy was born) and am now a phd student. Family and work leave very little time for private things but the remaining time is currently invested in ffado, a free firewire audio driver for linux. That is why my projects seem to have stalled.

To give you a short update about my current situation:

I finally started writing my diploma thesis. That seems to leave very little time for anything else. No matter how hard I try to plan to do some mixing or some other creative work, I always end up working on my thesis. Is this good or bad? I don't know. But at least its going on...

Today is the big day here at FZ Dresden-Rossendorf: The big evaluation (that is to decide whether they get money or not).

Our part (for EPOS) was around 30 seconds long:

Während in Deutschland irgendwie täglich über Sicherheit geredet wird, dienen die Aktionen immer nur meiner Überwachung. (Unbedingt gegen die Vorratsdatenspeicherung wehren!) Selbst verfassungsfeindliche Vorschläge werden mit Jubel aufgenommen und etwaige Bedenken werden abgetan mit (sinngemäß): "Dann muss halt die Verfassung geändert werden."

Horray!

Today we got another picture of our child:
It is approximately 3 cm from head to the lower back and you can already see arms and legs. Well, not very well in that picture because it turned away after a first glance in the ultra-sonic. But the small distinct parts in the middle are the arms and the head is on the left.

What seemed to start as some kind of bragging results more or less in a constant way down. Well, I finished the third exam today and the series continued:

Today we saw a first real sign of our child. Unfortunately the circumstances weren't that good as my wife got some small bleeding just minutes before departing for her night-shift.

Yesterday I finally registered for my exams. You can find counters and (possibly) results here.

In my university I have to do three exams in four week which cover theoretical and experimental physics and in my case computer science.

It took us (me?) only about nine months but now we managed to put up our pictures in the living-room!
